AJC OIL INDEPENDENCE CONFERENCE IN SACRAMENTO

This past week, Executive Director Linda Feldman and I journeyed to Sacramento to attend an AJC energy conservation conference. The conference was a joint effort of the AJC chapters in San Diego County, Orange County, Los Angeles and the Bay area. The attendees were primarily leaders in the AJC energy conservation efforts. 2008 Highlights
“Become an active participant in forming AJC’s energy conservation program as it relates to national and international security; this may be the most important issue facing the free world in this century”, says Alan Nevin, Director of Economic Research for MarketPointe Realty Advisors and Chief Economist for the California Building Industry Association.
Alan has agreed to serve as the Chair of the San Diego AC Energy Security Committee. Mr. Nevin holds advanced degrees from Stanford and American University. He is a senior advisor for real estate programs at the UC San Diego Extension program, and is a founding member of the UCSD Economics Roundtable.
Over a Barrel!?
San Diego joins the California AJC’s legislative forum on energy policy to be held on March 2-3 in Sacramento. Attendees will include members of AJC leadership, elected officials and distinguished speakers such as Jim Woolsey, former CIA Director and Honorary Chair Robert Hertzberg, former California Assembly Speaker.
